Positive: Flame Tree Cottages is a paradise on earth. The staff is amazing and always ready to help. The location can not be better, right at a really nice beach. The restaurant/beach bar ("Zanzi") was really beyond our expectations and much more then what the pictures show. They prepare wonderful food, with great variaty and it is located directly at the beach with organized entertainment a few times per week. The breakfast was brought to our veranda every morning and we ended up having lunch at the dinner at the Zanzi restaurant every day as it was really delicius. Thank you for a wonderful vacation.

Positive: Great quiet hotel, relaxing hotel located away from the crazy intensity of the main beach. Agnes and the other staff were all super friendly.
Negative: Not a criticism of the hotel as it applies to all hotels in the area, but as soon as you leave the grounds for the beach, the Masai beach boys start their relentless harrassment. Trying to sell you tours, drugs and all kinds of things. Be careful if you are a single woman, they are very charming and are often sex workers (in the Thai Bar Girl style), or have a romance scam angle.

Positive: The staff was absolutely wonderful. Fatima and agnas was wonderful. Everyone was eager to help. Loved having dinner at the beach restaurant. The property is well taken care of.
Negative: The mattress felt like there was no mattress. It was very hard. The shower needs more water pressure. The cocktails needs improvement. None of the cocktails i got were good.

Positive: Stayed here for 4 days with my boyfriend. This place is absolutely amazing. The property is beach front, the beach is beautiful with white sand and cristal clear water. At high tides you can jump right in. It’s also situated in a lively area with lots of cafes and restaurants around. The property is very large, it comes with a beautiful, well maintained garden with lots of palm trees, bushes and flowers. It is the only hotel with such a nice large garden. We had the king room with ocean and garden view. It’s a large room, comfortable bed and very clean. Room service is also spot on. We really enjoyed the breakfast serviced on the terrace in front of the room. Breakfast has a nice choice and really keeps you going throughout the day. We also very much enjoyed the pool, it has a really good size for swimming. Everyone at the hotel was very kind and welcoming. Overall I can absolutely recommend this place for an unforgettable stay!

Positive: -Super welcoming and kind staff. Every single one of them will make you feel welcomed, and assist you at any given time. Special shout out to Mohammed who goes above and beyond to make sure you have an amazing stay. -special touch of owner, who will greet you personally, which is really nice gesture -Breakfast is very nice. Served on your veranda every morning. (Its always same menu everyday, it gets a bit monotone, but its ok for 2-3 days stay) -Hotel is right on the beach, inside hotel itself it feels like resort, so much greenery and nice pool -Food is good, but portions are small... especially starters. -Everyday they replenish water bottles, and spray room for mosquitoes in evening time -Tea coffee pot and sachets available also in room which is nice -When power goes off (normal in zanzibar) they have generators so you always have electricity and AC in room -AC is really really good!
Negative: There is little room for improvement which would be nice to see kn next stay here: -food takes looooong time to arrive on table -portions should really be increased -WiFi is slow... it barely opens websites. You have to keep waiting -breakfast menu to be changed/modified at least 2-3 days, because its always the same. For the price per day per room, it should be wider choice.
